1. TRAIN strives to provide a support structure for Reading families who are impacted by food allergies. Because food allergies are potentially life-threatening, raising a child with food allergies is a daunting task that places an enormous amount of stress on families. By having a local support group, it is easier for members to establish relationships with others who are dealing with the same daily challenges at home and in the community. 2. TRAIN also strives to reach out to the community to establish the cooperation, understanding, and support needed by children with food allergies and their families. It is critical that children with food allergies receive the cooperation and support of their community to keep them safe. This is especially true when children are young and unable to take responsibility for their safety but also when they grow older and face the difficulties of peer pressure and isolation. |
